See my sig. for mods..........what benifits will a f.a.s.s. lift pump system do for me? A local diesel shop will sell and install system for around $600.00............is this money well spent or is it just another useless mod?

Larry, lift pumps seem to help highly modded trucks. Keeps fuel system primed and ready.
Power gains are subject to the user.
Personally, I first believed that I gained very little even with my mods.
However, I dynoed last weekend and see much flatter power curves for hp and Torque after my Lift Pump install (with different but IMO equal Tranny/ converter).

I see an average increase of 20 + hp and 30 + lbs of Torque through the pull after peak.

You may want to look at TTS's new lift pump setup, or Kennedy's. The f.a.s.s. system has been said to empty the pickup from the tank because it flows to much when demand isn't very high (idling or under light throttle) TTS's setup is cheaper than the f.a.s.s. anyway.

The TTS pricing is listed in the vendor specials forum at the bottom of the main index page. I believe it is around 450 for the dual pump setup. Not sure on Kennedy's.

I've got one of JK's singles to put on and feed a nictane.

It doesn't hurt anything and may help some.

I run the fass and I love it. With a big tune a saw some difference but nothing major. It does smoke more though. With my truck at a 1/4 tank it does suck in air but just fill it up and you will be fine. Its worth it cause they last forever.

To add to what Slick said, there was a big argument here between Bronco and Diesel Tech and after looking at the whole system, it pretty much looked like the FASS and the Preporator had side effects due to their high flow rate coupled with the construction of the fuel tank that ended up negating what they were supposed to be doing.

I think the general consensus of the site is to use a simple lift pump like the TTS or Kennedy and let the fuel tank do the rest.
