I was towing light load 6000 lbs in AZ heat 104 deg yesterday coolant temps on edge attitude went up as high as 117 deg is this normal for a long grade hill pull holding 65 mph? I replaced water pump few months ago with oem part and went to prestone red coolant. I thought it seemed hot so I wanted to ask you guys what you thought. Do you think I should look into a new fan clutch.
when I slowed down a bit temps dropped to like 208 deg then 205 but it took a while.

As long as it comes back down to your normal temp I wouldn't worry too much about it. Mine runs 180-190 If I'm hard on it it will go to 210 no problem with no trailer on flat ground
