Tell you're buddy to send the Hypertech back and get a Nelsen or Westers tune. Try this place he has all kind of stuff for 8.1 www.tbyrne.com :cool2:

1 true long tube header maker(SSW$$$$)
1 intake mainfold maker(raylar$$$$$$$$$$$$$)
3 cam makers(comp ,raylar and crane now)
3 FI apps(STS,whipple,Vortec)
2 cranks sold by raylar $$$$$$$$.


Now compare this to The LSx engine, I can't open a mag anymore, without not seeing somebody's 402 or 408 stroker, head, headers, and etc.... which I thought about going to once or twice.

Me personally, I think aftermarket support of the 8.1 has been dismisal at best. Which is a why guy is stuck paying $2300 for a higher performing cast alum intake for this motor. Heck I have a local guy that can build a better performing sheetmetal intake, formed by hand for less than raylar's intake.


But there is an upside to this, 8.1 liter equals BIG power, when massaged right. :muahaha: Or whenever tierod can get his truck back to together:exactly:

Right now I am on a mission to take stock components, and see how far and how fast. 13's are the goal on "stock heads", stock exhaust manifolds,stock intake, and all N/A.

But, send the hpyercap back, getting either a westers, nelson,or pcmforless tune. 10 times better=:ro) :)

OR Do it yourselfer, getting Hptuners software package. Love mine, never drive without it.
