I read in one of the threads (now I can't find it again) that although the predator and other tuners allow recalibration of your speedometer, they do not recalibrate your odometer/tripmeter. If this is true, how are you guys calculating your fuel mileage? I realize that a tuner will throw the already-unreliable DIC fuel mileage out the window, but if I do not have an accurate read of miles travelled, is there some other way of calculating mileage?
Thanx!

Use your trip meter...
miles driven / number of gallons you put in = fuel milage
in my case 21 mpg this summer :D

I would like to use the trip meter, but I have mounted bigger tires (285/70/17) and my trip meter is no longer accurate. I intended to use a predator or similar tuner to adjust for the new tire size, but I have been given the impression that none of the tuners correct the odometer/trip meter - they only correct the speedometer. I am hoping this is not true...

I Have No Idea, I Re-programmed With The Predator..........but..........when I Was Running 285's I Was Averging 14.5 Mpg And Since I Have Switched To
35 X 12.5 X 17, My Mileage Is 11.5 Mpg.... I Have Not Guaged With Know Distances To See If Its Wrong, I Sure Hope It Is Though Because 11.5 Is Horrible.

The first post states that the programmers change your speedo, but NOT your odometer. Is this true?

No, if your speedo is on, the odometer is on. I checked this with my GPS. I had to see if mine was on. GPS and odometer match as long as your speedo matches the GPS too. BTW I tried this before my truck was re-programmed and the odometer was off as well as the speedo. Just my 2 cents!

Interesting. With GPS, my speed is very close, while I am about 4% off on the odometer with my 265s. When calculating mileage, I end up adding 4 miles for every 100 driven.

I use the "DPs Rules for Calculating Fuel Mileage" that was started by JJs DuMax;)
