: Why reduced power mode?

Can anyone tell me why my 2001 DMax goes into reduced power mode (limits RPM to about 1900) when I'm using light to medium power but never when I drive hard or very easy? I've had it to the dealer many times and even given them rides with their TECH-2 hooked up and they still can't tell me what it is.

From the looks of the power you are running, might have something to do with an overboost code??? Maybe... But then again if they did not find anything with the Tech II then not sure... Good luck

Normally the engine does not go into Limp Home mode without giving a code.

With no codes, you will have to start guessing.

I agree, should be a code. Did they check Tcm codes also?

Once about every 4-5 times it does this it throws a 0234 code
When it does go into reduced power, it always resets and goes back to full power in about a half a mile.
If I use just JUICE or just the ACCELERATOR it does this so frequently I can hardly drive the thing, so ,I run them stacked all the time!

I was correct.. That is an overboost code.. Do a search on that code and you will find more info.. Not sure of the fix, might be a problem with the Juice or the PPE box..

If I run it bare (no JUICE or PPE) it will still do it if I run it hard, as in high speed or towing a trailer. I think it must be a sensor, but I don't know how to find it if they can't find it with a TECH-2.
