Was out today at the strip. Was lazy and didn't want to take off the timberns which ment no lowering the bars. First run was nice launch, not too aggresive. 1.8 60 foot. 101mph, and a slow 13.3.

Then after a bad launch due to poor angles i decided to try some 2 wheel drive running.

First launch from about idle it did a nice 2.6 60, like 15 seconds and 101mph.

Second run, about 1000rpm launch so just bit higher it did a 2.3 60, 13.9 and 103mph.

This all got me wondering about 2 wheel drive.

The truck feels better from 1/2 track on in 2 wheel versus 4.
Anyone think a nice slick would allow for a sub 2 60 foot which i feel would allow me into better et's and easier on my front end.

Slicks will get sub 2.0 60fts with no problem. I ran slicks on my 2wd Duramax and got 1.8-1.9 60fts doing non boosted launches( because my truck was a manual trans). With an auto trans and boost off the line it would have did 1.7 60fts easy. The slicks are posted in the market place under wheels and tires if anyone is interested.

My 2wd truck did a 1.66 60ft on a 28" slick tonight. I like the 2wd better than 4x4 personally becuase it is lighter and more fun to drive.

Awesome run and time. That gives me some encouragement, since mine is only 2wd
