How does everyone feel about the new cooled seats in the 2011 HD Denali? I am thinking of ordering a Denali and want to know if this is overkill or actually worth the money....

I rode in a BMW with A/C seats a few years back... It was heaven.

My 2008 Cadillac CTS has them and it was a feature I didn't expect to use. I plan to order a 2011 Denali in the spring and I will definitely order them. They really are nice in the CTS.

Go test drive a new superduty! lol
You may be able to find one on the lot with cooled seats.

If I have A/C, 4 windows, remote start to cool her down, and a sliding rear window wouldn't that be sufficient lol

I have yet to sit in a new Denali but in the CTS it does a great job of keeping the heat from building up in between your back and the seat. I rarely use the seat heaters in either vehicle but the cooled seats get used a lot. In IL the "safety nazis" require kids to be in the back seat in booster seats until they are nearly old enough to legally consume alcohol (even though school buses don't even have seat belts in our state). Our 6 year old feels discriminated against since there isn't a cooler for the back seat.

By the way, if they are the same as in the CTS they work by pulling air through the perforations in the seats. I don't know if the Denali uses the same system but it works very well in the car. No more sweaty shirt backs on hot/humid days :) The system is pretty quiet even on its highest speed, mine is normally on low.

I have them and feel it is the best option installed in the truck! Hot days they are awesome. Even getting into the truck after sweating while loading up a trailer or something it's nice to have the cooling for awhile. Certainly the HVAC system does an excellent job of keeping the interior comfortable, but it can't cool your back and butt while they're pressed into the seat. Once you use them, you won't want to be without them. I wish my Audi and Yukon had them.

They are the greatest things ever! There is no going back! I turn both seats on all the time just to move that much more air, keeping your backside cool and fresh all day is very nice.

I told my wife my next vehicle will have steering wheel audio controls and cooled seats.

Keep in mind that the cooled seats don't use the A\C so it doesn't pull the mileage down on cooler days when you are trying for mileage, but do to the fact that they only come on the Denali I guess its kind of a mute point anyways. lol

So how do they work? It sucks air out of the tiny hole in the seats?

Yeah, thats what was said above. Create a vacuum, negative pressure creates a cooling affect (opposite of air compression, which is why the turbo motor has an intercooler).
