went to napa to get a fuel filter and their new ones are plastic. any problems using them or not? some one said about them on here a while ago and it turned into a price comparison. just wanted to know if they are working ok or should i get a metal style somewhere else? thanks

I would steer away from them. They have a cheap thin seal that seals the dirty fuel from the clean. Go with the new dual element GM filter, they are the latest and greatest!

From what I've herd their a polyurethane not a plastic I'm on my 2 one and haven't had any problems, check out some of the past posts on this topic.

I used one a few filters ago with no ill effect. Typically I use AC Delco.

List on the NAPA ticket was $80. No, I did not pay any where near that.

Napa gold is the same as wix. The last filter I got was a wix brand and it is the "new design" polyurethane cased model. I have not had any problems with it.

thanks, it is a napagold and cost 39.99 but "list price"[lol] is 79.91. just wanted a spare filter but may get a metal one to change it with for now because we are traveling in a week to the outer banks and dont want to have any problems.

The Napa Gold (Wix) fuel filters work great. I have used them for a while with no issues.

I'm on my second one from NAPA. Both times that I changed it, I would lose prime once in a while the first couple of weeks. Then it seemed to seat and be fine. Other than that, they are fine.

Just used a Napa Gold (poly) for the first time. Had issues with it sealing. Leaked pretty good at the large o-ring. Had to use the strap wrench to tighten it just enough to stop the leak. It appears that the o-ring is a bit thinner than the AC. Will more than likely stay with AC.
