if its not in the manual, can't call the dealer, not marked, or can't find it anywhere with a search... just run down to half a tank and then go fill up... see how many gallons it took, mulitpy by 2.

Done.

On the dually it should be 36 gallons. Most likely unless you run it empty the most you will ever put in it will be about 34-35 gallons...

What he said. Mine is this way also. Of course I've never run it completely out, but I have run it purty low and never was able to put more than 34 gallons in and there was fuel left in the tank.

A friend is asking me before he decides to buy an 05 and the brochure I have shows both 36 and 34 gallons. When we ordered our truck I found 5 errors in the brochure. It isn't a big deal either size but kinda nice to know what we have. chevman. Thanks everybody

In my 2005 Silverado owners manual that came with my new 3500 DRW crew cab Duramax/Allison, a supplement was inserted entitled "Supplement to the 2005 owner manual" Capacities and Specifications

From that 1 page supplement it says the short bed has a 26 gallon capacity and the long bed has a 34 gallon capacity. This corrects the information on page 5-133 of my manual where it states that the long bed has a 36 gallon capacity.

The 34 gallon capacity is the same as the year 2000 3500 SRW crew cab long bed gasser that I traded in on my new 3500 Duramax DRW 2 weeks ago.

Got my new 05 a week ago, book says 36 gal. Not to worry ,have already installed a 50 gal aux. tank.
Hate to get fuel when i am pulling my boat or fifth wheel.

bill...My book says 36 gallons as well, check out the 1 page supplement that should have been stuck in your manual. 34 gallons is the correct capacity according to the supplement.

I get scared when I have to put $75 in my tank. So when it gets down 10 or 12 gallons, I fill it up again. Makes me feel a lot better...

Using the PS additive.

The 03 extended cab dually is 34 gal. Tank size varies with cab type and bed length. You should be able to get the capacity on the GM website where you spec out a truck. It has capacities listed on it.

Call PAcific Performance Engineering - Fullerton CA. they have a 70 gal ftermarket under bed kit. Replaces to factory unit. The only problem now is the fillup. 60*2.85=171 approx. On the other hand, you can buy at cheapest price and go 1100 miles or so before your bladder gives out!

They made a late change in the 05's & the factory tank is 34 gallons (long beds) per the supplement in the front of your owner's manual.

My information was that the 8ft. bed trucks get the 34 gal. tank. Chassis Cabs get the 36 gal. tank. All I really know is that I need a much bigger tank.
