I recently purchased a six gun used. I plugged it into the harness and ran the switch into the truck. I followed the directions of setting up the switch and everthing else. I feel no power difference in any of the settings. From what ive read here there is a noticeable difference. There is an inline fuse in the wiring harness and it looks ok. Not sure if the fuse is part of the banks wiring or if it was added in. It came with speed loader and I plugged that in and noticed no difference on that either. I read in the book about resetting it if it is changed vehicles and I tried that but I dont have anyone to watch the green light to see if it flashes when it is supposed to. I do not have the pyrometer hooked up to it yet and it is giving a code for that but I was thinking it should still work without it right? I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas or is there something im missing? I dont know if its something im doing wrong or if it needs to be sent to banks for repair. Also, I drove it around to get engine and tranny to operating temp and it made no difference.

Thanks
Dave

is the green light on at run position, this will tell you if you have it hooked up right, (it is on the six gun unit by the phone jack, if it is blinking with red lights read the codes in the manual to see what it is doing, and why it will not power up, just a note if the unit was used with a speed loader and you do not have a speed loader sometimes it will not work again without one, also check the pyrometer probe conections they are famous for throwing the six gun int a tizzy

IIRC, the speedloader wont function properly till it reads exhaust temp, so hooking it up, with out installing it in the manifold wont work. I would remove the speedloader till you get the probe installed. As said before the green LED needs to be solid with the key on. You can also position it, so it (the LED's) can be seen from the drivers door and reach in to cycle the key. Working correctly, even with out the SL you can definitely feel the difference, so you do have something wrong. Good luck and keep us posted.

The inline fuse comes with the Banks wiring harness. You can't plug the Speedloader into the module without also plugging in the pyrometer into the Six-Gun AND installing the probe into the manifold. The module has to read a minimum of 300 degrees from the probe. Unplug the Speedloader AND the pyrometer from the module until you can install the exhaust probe. Now, trying the Six-Gun by itself, turn the key to the run position and see what the led is doing. If it's flashing a series of red blinks, look in the manual to see what code it's throwing. Let us know.

Read it twice to make sure I didn't miss it, but I'm assuming that you also tied it into the Trans lines when you said you 'followed the directions of setting up the switch and everthing else'.

I sold him the six gun .Hi dave as said disconnect the speed loader and it will work fine if you look in the distructions it says if the engine sences a problem with the speed loader it will add no power.after you get the probe installed in the exhaust reinstall the speedloader

No, I didnt tie into the trans lines. Maybe I missed that part in the instructions. Although the only two loose wires I noticed were the two for the pyrometer and I covered those until I can hook the pyrometer up. I will read the manual again and see if there is something im missing. The sixgun was working on Socals truck so its just something im doing wrong.

I tried it both ways but I will disconnect the speed loader and try again.

Thanks

The LLY doesn't tie into the trans at all. I would go back and recheck the connectors and make sure they are seated properly. I've had the gun not operate on me before, even after shutting it off. Disconnecting and reconnecting the harness' did the trick.

Back from the dead. This is the first chance I have had to work on it since making this post.

I reconnected the six gun without the speed loader and I was still getting the 2,3 error for pyrometer. I connected the pyrometer to the wiring but did not install it and the error code went away. I drove the truck and tried all settings again and it makes no power difference. I am not sure where to look next. I have double checked the knob and it still doesnt make any difference. Fuse is ok. Any Ideas?

Disconnect the pyrometer. Re-cycle the switch. Look for any codes from the led. If it's showing a green led, your good to go.

Did you get it to work?

I ran my truck with Ralph's 6-Gun without the Pyro installed in the motor. I left it hanging in space, but connected to the 6-gun.

It ran low 14's in the 1/4mi so I assume it works pretty good that way.

Well, I reset the the six gun by following the instructions a little closer and it works perfectly now. When I am not so busy I will drill/tap for the pyrometer and use the speed loader. Not as much low end difference as I expected but it moves pretty good after im going. Thanks.

Davethat is good news I was thinking what the hell is going on with that thing.Being the one that sold it to you, I felt obligated to a positive outcome.you will notice alot more power from the speedloader in the lower setting. It will double your added HP on the lower setting
