Has anyone tried to put a set of the H2 chrome wheels that were available in 04(I think) on their HD. They were an optional chrome wheel that is completely different than the regular H2 wheels. I havent been able to take a close look at them, but in a picture, it appears that the center cap is close to being in line with the outside rim lip and not countersunk about 3 inches like the regular ones. I am curious as to whether there may be enough room behind this cap for our rear axles or if the center of the wheel has been moved out also, although it would seem like that would create too much backspacing on the rim. I have seen a couple of sets of these for sale in the last few months on the internet and they are a much better looking wheel than the regular rim in my opinion. They have about 6 or 8 solid bars from the center out to the rim with fake bolt heads on the ends at the rim.

Yes...and they will allow you to run the H2 cap on them and clear the rear hub. I'll find a pic and verify we are talking about the same wheel.

Those are the forged wheels for the H2. They were considered an upgrade over the stock cast ones. I'm not completely sure if they would work on our trucks. You'd have to see one and measure the back-spacing and offset on it, or maybe ask the seller to do it for you.

Hey BD, ya beat me to the punch.

Here's a link.....easier than a pic for me!
Like I said, the good thing about these wheels is the H2 cap will work.....helps a lot.

Big Dipper, I think that is them, the ones I saw looked like those except they had Hummer on the centercaps.

Yea but the super duper forged wheels have a 2750# rating.

Don't see how that's much of an upgrade.

Ahh, Tim....I said "considered", but I never said it was a GOOD upgrade.......

I looked into it quite a while back when I was selling takeoffs, went in and looked at a set and determined they would not work. But for the life of me I cannot remember why, it was like 2 years ago. Something about the depth of the lug hole I think..maybe backspace related.. can't remember.

On Edit:
They are made by Alcoa (talked to an Alcoa rep) and as stated Forged.

You must be mistaken......I can post a pic of them on a truck...no problems what so ever. The load rating is a little lower...that's it.

I would like to see the picture also. If you can, please post it. I have located another set of these wheels and would like to see it. They are too far away for a look/see drive before buying them.

OK, I'll see if I can get them up today........personally, I don't care for them on the HD. The regular H2 wheels in factory chrome look better.....JMO.
