So I cracked my transfer case, both halves. It is a 261XHD...my question is where can I get a cheaper one other than a junk yard?. Sorry for the newb questions but I have been searching and can't find anything.

And I pretty much know this but, it wouldn't be smart to drive it correct? It holds no fluid. I am just trying to figure out all my options.

I would not drive it, and many vendors on here sell them I believe.

New question....it is a 261XHD off a 2007 2500HD. I have heard that the 2007 T-case is year specific and no others have the same, is that true?

I think the 261xhd is the manual shift transfer case, the 263xhd is the push button 4x4

Another question...I found a good deal on a 261 hd...which is a 4 speed. Can I take the internals of my 261xhd and put then in the 4 speed case? They appear to be the same cases and if I can do that, I have a killer deal on the 4 speed case.

The HD and the XHD are different cases. Will NOT interchange

Bummmmmer. Thank you! I just noticed on your site that you have a rear case for 263 and 261, are those interchangeable??? If so....do you happen to also have a front? Or be able to get one?

I've got them for all applitions. Also have the front housings for your 261XHD on hand as well
