: pull with lift and 35s?

I've been to a few county fairs in the past couple weeks watching the truck pulls, been reading threads here and I really wanna try it. Just wondering if I would be okay to pull with a 6" lift and 35s? I have blocks in the rear, and the torsion bars turned up some in the front. I would lower the bars all the way, strap the centerlink, and I have tie-rod sleeves. Spring clamps seem pretty simple to throw on so I might try those too. The motor and tranny are all stock, I know I probly won't compete with any of the big dogs but it looks like a lot of fun. Anybody pull with a lift and bigger tires? Am I more prone to breaking parts? Thanks guys, so much good info here, I've been reading pulling threads for a days. :D

Sounds like you pretty much have the right idea. You want your tie rod angles as close to flat as possible.

Blocks in the rear would be something to think about. The blocks create alot more leverage than if the axle was directly on the leaf spring. The axle will want to roll up, clamping will help. Are you going to block the rear end? Blocking will help. Check the rubber brake line from the axle to the frame for available slack. I've have see guys with lifts tear this off from the axle rolling. A simple set of traction bars would be a good idea IMO.

I've pulled 3 times so far after the lift and so far so good. I have about 20 pulls before the lift and never broke anything.

Here's my setup
Straight centerlink
Hd tie rods
Traction bars
Lower torsion bars (only when pulling)

I've never won anything but I've been in many pull offs and it's holding together.

Thanks guys. The blocks are what really worried me. We'll see maybe I'll try it. This might be a dumb question, but the pics on here of where to strap the centerlink show the driver's side. Is this the only side to strap or should I do both?
Thanks for all the help guys
