ok i have no idea what is going on with my truck but i will be taking off normal and it just keeps falling on its face and coming back. it doesnt do it everytime. also it will black smoke when it falls on its face. the only code i can get is P0540. the only thing i done before it started doing this is i removed my blocker plate for a buddy to go off of to make him one. it also black smokes real bad when cruising and i try speeding up some. i have no idea what it could be. any ideas?

Generally the first thing you do when you have a problem with a diesel is change the fuel filter......have you tried that? Good luck.

check intercooler couplings happened to me and mine was blown off

brand new filter on the fass and the stock fuel filter is removed and it dont really act like its blown a boot but ill check

Had A Similar Problem With Mine. It Would Drive Normal Then Cutout Then Pick Up Again. Everytime It Cut Out It Felt Like It Was Lagging Real Bad And Would Smoke Like Crazy. Mine Was A Problem With Tuning Related To The Egr Valve. You Mentioned You Took Your Block Plate Out For A Buddy To Copy It? Id Be Looking Into That Area.

i was pulling my turbo off last night to send it off to get it upgraded and foune that the bolts had broke off on the back of the egr so im guessing thats what it was and im going to order a egr delete now

Sound like you found the problem to me man. Of topic but noticed we have similar setups, what kind of numbers are you pulling on the dyno?
