To build a "modified class" chevy/duramax? :ro)
Watson's shake it up a little with their "Smokin" Ford, but still utilize the Cummins engine.
Rockford rear, Pro Fab Drop box, dual stage turbos, as much fuel that you can throw at it???? Even if it doesn't place top 5 at first, it would be a hit with the crowd and the potential sponsors.....
This thought comes from a sponsor that wanted to know why there weren't any all-out Dmaxes competing. I said, it won't be long I'm sure....
So will it be Tomac, Todd Cox, Ryan U or a someone that is being nice and quiet?

Things have been slow the last two weeks. We were down to an 8.25, we have another converter that should be here today or tomorrow for more testing. I'd like to see it stay this cool until Monday..... I hope the new changes net some quicker times.

Eric,

Does the sponsor wanna sponsor the build up of one? I'm sure anything can be built with the right amount of $$$. BTW is the limit 2 turbos in this class? How about DHRA racing? It was 2 turbos but I haven't read the rules lately. And why is it limited to two turbos if that is still the rules?

Nathan,
What's happening brother? Missed you this year at IRP! There is a two-stage limit, not a two-turbo limit in Modified pulling. Pro Street drag racing will be changing to a weight penalty per power adder next year. The racers have expressed this desire. So, we'll start with 5000 lb and go from there. DHRA is gearing up for 2007 with an outlaw class, and two pro classes (Dragster and pickup classes).
As far as the sponsor putting up the $$$ for a build, that won't happen for a long time unless someone has a relationship already established. The sponsors typically sponsor a personality or a team once they have seen the success or excitement that team or person create. They are looking to sell more product ultimately. As I've heard quite often "don't bet on a pony you haven't seen run". Most sponsors are looking for a well-kept, professional team that would represent their company well. In this case the sponsor is a Chevy fan and would probably approach a team on his own terms someday.

If i was outta college by now(will grad dec 05) and had another vehical Id be workin my way into the mod class. But right now my pulling truck is all i have to drive everyday. I drive around town constantly with 1100lb of tractor weights in the bed. I have the man to help me figure out the motor. Now i just need to find time and $$$...and something else to drive.

Eric,

I was joking around wondering if the sponsor you were refering to wanted to sponsor the build up of a Dmax pulling truck. So parrallel turbos count as one stage? One power adder? That makes sense if that is true.

Opie's truck wasn't ready to go to IRP so we didn't go. It's too far to go at it alone so I stayed home as well. I didn't have time to do squat to my truck but I didn't care much. Next year I'd imagine we'll come out in full force though with some crazy stuff we've been working on together.

I fuigured you were joking, but for the others reading that don't know, that's why I said that. Yea, one stage is one power adder, unless that becomes an overwhelming advantage, but I see a ci weight penalty coming before that! :)

Just a rumor, but I heard of a couple of michigan outlaw types who're workin on a POWERSTROKE POWERED ford. If you're interested in tossin a couple sponsors their way, just give me a ring- Eric!!! I have a couple of em in mind who could give product to help it along!
