Im trying to find out what the diffrence is on the 05 and 06 duramax. I'd love to buy an 05 on the employee discount program but there arn't ANY in 500 miles. Let alone what I want. Dave smith in ID sells the 05 normally at $1000 higher than the current discount price (at invoice). so Im thinking I'll get my order in on an 06 in a month. Think they'll have the overheating issue fixed?

There are numerous threads discussing the changes for the 06. I would highly advise you to take a look around, as this topic has already been covered.

suuuure. I did read arround but only found the pics of the new cooler and mirrors really. No mechanical data about the cooling fix or signs that there was an effort to fix it..

I heard from a reliable source that the 06' dmax will be 345 HP 650TQ with a 6 speed Allison. 6th gear will be more overdriven.

The current rebate is significantly lower than invoice and I found Dave Smith to be about $1000.00 above invoice on a Dodge even thought they claimed it was invoice. If I was still looking for one I'd hop a plane to anywhere that had what I want and drive it home. I also saw a thread on here in which a dealer was allowing people to raincheck an 06 at the current employee discount price. That would be hard to beat.

now tha rain check deal would kick butt. I wonder if daves price was with dealer installed adds and delivery fee.
