I have a 2006 6.6L LBZ Duramax. My truck has broke down on me about three times on the interstate now. It only happens when the fuel is a quarter of a tank or less. If I am just running around town my truck does fine (lots of stop and go running from anywhere b/w 35-50mph). However when I'm running on the interstate at high speeds (75mph-85mph) is when my truck starts having trouble. It acts exactly like ur truck will when you have a stopped up fuel filter. You will be running fine and all of a sudden you will start dropping speed and power even if you don't let off of the accelerator, like its not getting gas and the engine is missing. You will continue to drop speed no matter how much you goose the gas pedal or how far you push it down. As you pull off the road so you don't get run over the truck will completely die out. Upon trying to start the truck back up, it cranks perfectly fine but will not start. If you unscrew the bleeder plug on the fuel housing and prime it, there is lots of air in the fuel line. After priming long enough it will finally start. I have a K&N cold air intake on the truck and 4 inch exhaust system (the only after market products on the truck). I also had a diablo sport programmer programmed in (the tow haul mode) however, due to having my truck in the shop and plugged up to the dealers diagnostic machine I imagine the program has been erased. If anyone has any ideas whats causing my truck to get air in the fuel line when running hard on the interstate it would be greatly appreciated. Getting tired of breaking down on the interstate. A gentleman i know suggested an AirDog Air/Fuel Separation System as well as a PPE Duramax Race Fuel Valve (which I have no idea what that is). Again any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
