Thanks for the help and quick reply. I was changing the coolant in my truck. I was in a pole barn in the middle of no where and the only internet I had was my cell phone and could not do a search. I never seen a bolt used as a bleeder. I could not find and drain for the radiator. so I took the driver side block plug out. I got a little over 4 gal. out. I looked all over for the radiator. drain plug but never found it. The truck also got new power steering fluid and all new brake fluid. Brakes work much better now, and the brake pedal feels great.

So the radiator and reservoir drained by using the block plug? I was going to try that

I don't think I would ever drain coolant from the block plug because you would be screwed if something bad happen.

I don't think the 06 and up have drains on the rad. What would go wrong from the block plug? it was not that hard. I am not sure how much coolant got left behind. but I do know I got over 4 gal. out. yes the rev. did drain out empty.

Thanks. True, o6+ are without a drain. I think total capacity is like 25.4 qts. I don't see what would go wrong that way either. that's the way Merchant told me to do to get a total flush.

I unclipped the lower rad hose on my 06 to drain it......your way may have been easier, how wet did you get? LOL.

I did not get very wet, I was ready for it. don't think pulling a bolt is any worse that pulling a huge hose off.:D It was not that easy to get the drain bolt out. not hard but not easy. I had a hard time seeing if there was yellow on it or not. I did pull the wrong bolt the first try. just some oil drained out but I got the bolt back in there asap. I was thinking about pulling the bottom rad. hose but the clip holding it on looked funny and I was not sure how to take off, and did not feel like breaking anything. If I would have felt like pulling the other drain bolt on the block I am sure I would have got more out, I was tired and it was late, so I looked at how much I got out (fuild did not look to bad anyway) So I called it good and started to fill er back up.
