I am new to leather seats. How do I repair cracks in the leather seats? I understand the cracks are permanent but I would like color the cracks to match the rest of the seat.

If the seats were shoes I would use shoe polish but I fear staining my clothes if I do that to my seats.

I ordered a kit from these guys about 2 mo. ago (left a bottle of wheel cleaner in my passenger seat....:duh:). I did not see an exact color match ( at least not to make me feel comfortable to order it) and they were very helpful and even took my order over the phone. Their leather protectant that came with their dye/repair kit beats Lexal as far as softness...IMHO...:2cents:

find a good leather interior restoration shop. They can redye the seats and fix the cracks. figure about $150/seat. Will end up coming out looking like brand new. Had my 97 mercedes seats redone a year ago and people are amazed, can't tell them from brand new.

Where are the cracks? I don't have cracks yet on my 08 but my 04 Ford started wearing where I would slide in on the seat bottom. The Ford dealer replaced mine under warranty. I recently checked with GM parts direct on getting new seat bottoms (new OEM slip on replacement covers) so I will have them when I start having problems, the price was only around $100 each.

All leather will eventually develope creases. Not cracks all the way through unless totally uncared for. I use Bick 4 on all our leather goods. Takes about 20 minutes to go over the interior of the truck or cars. You won't find Bick 4 in the automotice section of a big box store. Generally in tack shops or shoe stores.

Warm water on a damp rag and leather conditioner would be a start

Yea, your best bet is to get them professionally done.

Try a magic eraser! It works wonders to get the crap out of the cracks. Then use a good leather conditioner

I tried cleaning them but eventually just had a mobile vinyl/repair business take care of it. Its not perfect but looks a lot better and it did not cost very much.
