jvanwinkle2 09-15-2010, 02:31 PM I have doing more research for who I want to build my trans. Who all has had Crank It Up do there trans? who has an ats trans and how is it holding up? I'm looking at their stage 2 trans. I'm only looking for 400-450 rwhp.

I had mine done there and had trouble with it in 4 miles. lasted less than 1000 miles total and customer service is a joke.
where are you located?
AdaMax 09-15-2010, 04:29 PM I had mine done in 2006 its had 60 plus hooks and over 60,000 miles on it since . it was done up to a stage 3 and has also been at or over 500hp the hole time. still use it to haul firewood , pull camper , etc.......
jvanwinkle2 09-15-2010, 04:43 PM I'm in Indiana. So I've got lots it options but I'm leaning towards one of them. Soot what went wrong with yours and did they fix it? I'm just getting prices to get done in spring.
Tuttle228 09-15-2010, 06:27 PM If you're in Indiana, give Fleece Performance a call. They're very well known for building trannys and might not be that far from you!

pmeg1 09-15-2010, 07:34 PM I can't say anything one way or the other about Crank It Up but I had that exact tranny in my 02 with a Gt4088 on it that I sled pulled the piss out of and towed heavy with. The Hot plus 2 never came off the big setting and I never had any problems.
jvanwinkle2 09-15-2010, 07:40 PM I'm not trying to be cheap and ill pay for good parts. But when there is a savings and it will hold just as good. Why not. That is why I'm asking.3300 vs 5000 is a lot towards other parts. I'm looking to find out if the quality is the same. I know Fleece does great work. A few of my buddies only take theirs to them.

when I picked up the truck at his shop when he was finished I was headed back to the motel and it got stuck in 4th gear (about 4 miles into the drive). so I went back and he droped the valve body and cleaned it and reemed out the E shift valve and put it back together and the same thing happend on the lift( 4th gear). so he took it back out and cleaned it again and it did solve the problem. it never did get stuck in 4th gear again. but it burnt the C-1s out in a month after he built it and it was never raced or pulled as it was in febuary.
after trying to get in touch thru email and his cell for 3 weeks and he never returned my calls or email I decided to call ATS. so no Kyle did not stand behind it. however Wade at ATS did hook me up with a real good alison mechanic. and I have not had any problems since and I race and pull. for the last 2 years.
Dbtravis 09-15-2010, 08:44 PM merchant automotive in Zeeland MI. he is a very good guy, talked to him and answered any and all questions i had
cpr_454 09-16-2010, 04:53 PM crank it up is a joke...PERIOD
soot04max 09-16-2010, 05:20 PM crank it up is a joke...PERIOD
ut-o. what happend to yours?
BB-Dmax 09-16-2010, 06:19 PM I can't say anything about them from my experience. But GMC8093 is a user on here and had Kyle at Crank it up do his Ats stage 3 and he dogs the hell out of it and hasn't had any problems at all..
Bagged_s_dime 09-16-2010, 06:40 PM I had him do a suncoast g max kit in mine. Run the piss outa my truck for over 10,000 miles so far with no probs. Hes a lil hard to get ahold of but thats becouse hes busy, Hell when he done my efi his phone rang like 15 times in the middle of installing.
jvanwinkle2 09-16-2010, 07:44 PM I am probably going with a guy on here. But I was just wondering, I hadn't seen much on them. Thanks for the replies.
cpr_454 09-16-2010, 10:04 PM customer service is terrible which in my mind means a ton. Had tranny problems with a trim solenoid talked to him once then couldnt get ahold of him or have him call me back. I ended up fixing it on my own. Just my .02
jvanwinkle2 09-16-2010, 10:27 PM Bagged how do you like the co pilot? Is it worth it? I am thinking about adding one after my trans is built.
GMC8093 09-17-2010, 12:58 AM I can't say anything about them from my experience. But GMC8093 is a user on here and had Kyle at Crank it up do his Ats stage 3 and he dogs the hell out of it and hasn't had any problems at all..
Haha...Yes he is correct...I had mine done... 03 LB7, and my buddy had his done the very next week... 07 LBZ and both have been ran through hell and back...given they are both stage 3's with ATS deep pans and co pilots...I know for a fact niether one has been touched since...mine has been over 60K miles ago and the LBZ's has been around 70K miles ago. Still never a problem when racing or pulling...as for Kyle...he was great to both of us.
lol and its weird I saw this because this is the 1st time ive ever looked in this forum...thanks brandon ! lol
Big Chris 09-17-2010, 08:42 AM I've had my stage 2 for over 60,000 miles. Most of them with a 500rwhp efi tune loaded. No problems. Shifts great. Does run hotter than stock but it sounds like that is caused by the 5 star torque converter. If I was to do it over again I'd go with the Triple loc torque converter because I'm told it doesn't run as hot as the 5 star.
I'd have Kyle build another one for me. Took about half a day in the shop.
kaylajade31 09-20-2010, 09:27 PM beat on my stage 2 by kyle all the time i installed a copilot myself so its basicly a stage 3 but i run duramaxtuners max effort tune as my daily driver.not quick with replies but he know's alot about what he does's i would recomend him and will have him do my next truck.
SMITH6.6 09-21-2010, 12:33 AM go with suncoast gmax kit
Kyle03D 09-22-2010, 11:58 AM Thanks for all the good support guys! I appreciate it!
The 2 Pennsylvania guys, Sounds like you both had e-valves stick. I have them stick all the time, some weeks it seems like 50% of them do. They drive me crazy I try different things to reduce the frequency of the issue. But they are also far from hard to deal with so I just deal with them.
soot04max, I Don't remember this, has to be some time ago, Wade hasn't worked at ATS for years. Glad the trans is working good for you.
cpr_454, I'm far from a "JOKE". I always fix valve isssues, it's part of the job. It's a 20 minute thing. I don't avoid phone calls to save myself 20 minutes on fixing a $3300 transmisison.
Yes I am a one man shop, sometimes I can't answer the phone when my heads stuck between a torsion bar and a transfer case but I always always always return messages especially when its a problem with my trans they get moved to the top of the list.
The only issue I don't know how to fix is there is a type of people who refuse to leave messages. Hopefully you 2 guy's problems wasn't a result of this!
I'm good at what I do because it is all I do. I spend every day working on either Allison's or Duramax engines. Nothing else. These transmissions work awesome! I've been using them for 6 years!
04llygmc 09-22-2010, 04:09 PM No complaints with mine, its been flawless since the day it was installed.

yes Kyle is has been years  when I talked to wade, it was april 08. and that was a month and less than a thousand miles after you built the tranny.
Kyle I did call you when I had trouble with it when I was still in ohio and yes you did fix it while I waited in the shop.
it worked fine for about a month and then it would not move and I had to have it towed home. and I called you about the problem and you said to me that it sounds like you hosed a clutch pack. you were right the c1s were toast. Im not saying you dont know what you are doing cuz I think you are good at what you do I just wish you could have answered my calls and gave a little more help.
I still promote your work with a big ole sticker across my back window

You are a JOKE! You sold your truck to a guy and took his deposit then you turn around and sell it to someone else..
You are about as good as your word

X2.. what a weasel
jvanwinkle2 02-15-2011, 06:22 PM I started this thread to just see what kind of performance you guys were getting out of the ats trans and Kyle was one of the guys I was thinking of having to do it. Not to start crap. I appreciate the feedback but all this other s**t is not what I intended nor wanted. This was for one reason ratings of the trans.
hdd-max 02-15-2011, 10:20 PM My opinion on the transmission is stay AWAY from ATS period. I have had ATS and Mike L transmissions and they don't even compare. Mike's will last longer, shift better, and he is one heck of a guy.
