I have a couple of questions about electronic gauges in general. I was thinking about just going with two mechanical gauges, egt and boost, but then i was looking into electronic gauges for not that much more $$$. Plus i figured being able to read and clear codes would be worth the extra money. Which one is the best to go with? Edge insight seems the be the cheapest and it has a nice compact mount. Does it read boost pressure from the ecm? or do you have to tap into the pressure side of the intake somewhere? Can the edge stuff correct the speedo for tire size? Any info is appreciated.

The edge insight will max out at 24 for reading from the bus, but they are working on an addon that will read true boost in the future..

The insight will not correct the speedo for tire size. You might want to consider getting the CS/CTS evolution instead....

So the CS can reprogram for tire size? cause its basically the same cost but the egt probe is a little more than the insight

The CS evolution & CS race can... The CS insight can not. The CS insight can monitor more things however... I figure I would throw that wrench in there for you... If you are planning on blocking your egr in the future, just get the cs race then...

You can read & clear codes..

If you have the Egr blocked, you will get the CEL light then. The finger stick does not block it for the evolution... You will eventually get the code. If you get a programmer, get the CS Race then.. Just a little more information for you..

My understanding is that is only on the LB7 and LLY. My CTS Insight has a record of 25 for the boost.

The Insight has it available to correct for tire size, but it doesn't adjust the speedo, just has the MPH on the screen.

24-25 it does not read true boost. Edge is working on something that will read true boost. The insight is not a programmer so it does not correct the Trucks tire size & hence the speedo. The unit does, yes, display it on the monitor itself.
