Has any body else had the rear brakes on their 4500/5500 smoke. My 5500 has only 15000 miles on it and when I am on the highway the rear brake smoke after a few light stops. I took off the rear tires and checkded the brakes and all is well (calipers are not dragging), then I noticed the hubs seem to be really greasy. The axle seals seem to be leaking just enough to cause drippage onto the rotors, and of course smoke when hot.
I took it the dealer, and one of the mechanics said (off the record), that nearly all of the med. duty trucks will eventually do it, very common problem, but of course I am just out of warranty (too old), and there was nothing they would do, unless I shelled out myself.
Just a heads up the all those out there, if you notice your stopping power decrease, it may be due to greasy rear rotors.
