I was going to do the dual battery setup, and probably still will, but I have an extra good working alternator off my 8.1L and I have a buddy that has a machine shop...so no cost to me, I could put dual alternators on it. I have LOTS of hi-powered lights so it would help ALOT! But I was looking for a good spot and I dont really see one. The stupid Thermostat and housing are right in the way to put it next to the stock alternator. Any ideas guys?

Pricey, I think I'd build my own - unless someone here or your dealer would trace down the factory part #'s. I'd venture to guess the only 8.1L's that came with dual alts were Kodiaks or C4500/5500's with an ambulance/wrecker package.

That's what it looks like to me as well unless there is some room above the compressor.

$500! Ouch, I hope that's at least the whole kit (sans alternator and wiring) and not just the bracket.

surely itsa not just the bracket but it looks that way imo it looks homeade at that i would by gm's bracket u could order a 8.1 with dual batts and alts
