looks good to me but the 135 horses isnt really going to cut it up the big hills. I am interested but any suggestions to boost up some power without ruining too much mileage? thanks a lot love the site!:)

There won't be a hill you can't take in 5th gear with the cruise on. My wifes Jetta only has 90 horses and we climb any hill we want at just about any speed in 5th.

good to hear just was curious cuz 134 hp seems very low. also a guy i met through a buddy has the exact car but he has some emission problems and ithink he said there ewas only 18,000 KILOMETERS on his car.. what could the emissions problem be because at 18 ks thats a shocker. thanks againn!

Don't know about the emissions problems, but that 134 hp comes with a little over 200 ft-lbs of torque I believe.

Don't worry about the HP. It's not a race car but it gets itself around with no problem. Like the other said, it has enough to torque to pull itself over any hill in high gear. Nothing like a gas car.

Lots of diesel trucks are over 10,000lbs and have under 200hp.

I have an older 1997 VR6 Passat /5 speed - 174 HP and a 2005 New Beetle TDI/5 speed - 100 HP, even though the Beetle is a little lighter it has 74 less HP...........but it goes much better than the Passat does and get's 2X the fuel mileage..........

Diesels are the way to go.........

If that really is not enough power for you contact info@rocketchip.com. They can up the power for you. I don't think that will be needed, but is there if you insist.

More then enough power, these cars get up and go. As far as emission problems, EGR problems. The cooler leaks and the EGR gets gummed up with coolant. VW still does not have a fix. We have replaced the EGR, pipe and cooler 3 times on this 1 jetta within 5 months. But I've noticed that not all of them have this problem?
