I was looking at a Power Pup and was wondering how it would stack with an Edge or VA? Do they work smoothly? Will it remove the limiters on an 01' or not?

It will Stack with both.
Anytime you stack your APP signal / fuelling is very touchy so it is less than smooth

If you stack it will be noisy (rattle like PSD) unless you get one with the timing taken out.

I do not know if it will remove the 01 limiter.

Will that rattle Censored up anything.I assume it's not a good rattle. I'm just looking for the best options.I want to remove the limiters and gain a little power now.Once I get good clutch I want to be able to add another 150hp or so.

TTs is high priced! I need that limiter remover though. No others out there will huh?

Even it wont remove the speed limiter will it?

Yes the tts will remove it on 01s but I don't think anyone else makes one that will. For the money you will get the most powerful mod out there. I think there was a guy who found a way around the rev. limiter but I'm not sure what he did, maybe do a search.

i put a hypertech on my 01 dmax, there is no speed governor anymore

Really,That sounds cool:D .How fast will it go now?

I did not think that the hypertech would remove the speed limiter on the diesel trucks.... IIRC it will only program the "hypertech" tuning into the truck and tire size.

My hypertech wouldn't remove it either. I'm pretty sure it only changes your power levels and tire size, unless they updated. When did you get your programmer?

So "it will rattle like a PSD" is this bad for the engine? Becuase I am planing on doing the same. And what exacly do you mean by " very touchy?" and "less than smooth" Do you mean poor engine quality ect.???
Thanks
Oh and is it worth it in the end? (stacking Bullydog and EDGE)

Very Touchy ... as in hair trigger touchy. For what you are used to 1" of throttle = X acceleration now only requires 1/2 that !

Less than smooth = While going down the road with cruise control engaged, down a hill the truck will surge due to the touchy part (accel quickly) then decelerate just as quickly. The shocks sent thru the driveline have to be experienced to be believed. Throttle on and off like a lightswitch.

Rattle IIRC is from timing overlap of injection events. You are also injecting more fuel on the pilot inj cycle so the quiet part of the common rail is partially negated. Is it Damaging? I don't know yet. I have been running full timing on both modules for 50K Miles and so far no ill effects. Adding timing to CTD's 12V's seems to help EGT's (up to a point)

Sooo..... That's about all the help i can be on that one.

The better way (from most accounts) is going straight to the TTS Extreme. No more rattle than stock and less throttle sensetivity.

I have yet to try a TTS, It would be interesting to see what one would dyno out at with the additional 'snoflake' on the truck.:ro)

You're saying stack the EJ w/ the TTS? Why is the TTS so high $$$$?

nick04duramax

You don't need to stack the tts with anything it has jus as much power as any stack out there and it is a single purchase.

TTS is custom tuned to your vehicle. To date it has the most power of any single module out there. You get what you pay for. Yes you can stack and get similar power, but it is not as refined and ultimately you will be within 200.00 or so $$$$ of going to TTS in the first place.

I have other things coming to test out before i take the TTS plunge. Too many irons in the fire right now to buy anything else.

FWIW

Isn't a TTS 150hp just like the E/J HOT? I'd have to get guages also right.

TTS Extreme is at least 225+ RWHP IIRC most members Dyno somewhere around 250 additional RWHP over baseline. Most will crack 500 RWHP with the TTS.

Yes you will need Gauges.
Boost Gauge, EGT Gauge (0-1600F minimum)

And a Built Trans to handle it. And another set of rear tyres... soon... very very soon:ro)

Sweet:ro) I need a new clutch soon. I want more power!!! Will it tear up anything else?? My tires suck anyway, good excuse to get what I want):h . It will also recalibrate for different tires right?

Got Juice?
08-05-2005, 08:14 PM
IIRC Steve can recal for tire sizes. You might want to look up SBC/SuperDiesel's Clutch setup as well. Tie Rod Sleeves, etc etc etc.

The list never ever ever ends......

Yeah the SBC/SD clutch is what I plan to get.I wish they would get it out soon. Thanks

ok so forget about Bully dog 150Hp and just stack TTS with my EDGE?? And I should be up around 500RWHP with that stack?? And it will be smooth and easyer on the engine??
Thanks again all for your help.

TTS will get you very very close to 500.

high 490's i would imagine

Dmax05
08-08-2005, 03:55 PM
500ish...that pretty damn good without drugs right??

ratlover
08-08-2005, 04:05 PM
Close to 450-500RWHP, no drugs, no stacking. TTS dosnt like to stack. Better buy a good trans. Better have lift pump. TTS also sells lift pumps.

Dmax05
08-08-2005, 11:05 PM
Sell EDGE, buy TTS and just stay with that? Then if I want more I should check into using drugs?
* Ratlover, I see you use TTS, how do you like it? Does it make the D-max pretty quick?? How do you do against others? About what did you pay for the trans upgrade, lift pump and TTS?? (so I know about what to spend)
Thanks alot!
Matt

IMO in order a deccent approach to take.....buy a trans and get it installed, buy a TTS, buy liftpumps and get them installed, install TTS, sell edge if you want to, add drugs or a different turbo if you want to

I love my TTS. With it I run high 12's. With it and drugs I run high 11's.

Call suncoastconverters.com and see what they want for a trans + converter, call ATS and see what they want for a trans + converter. Do some research and figure out with one is better for you and then figure out who your going to have install it and how much thats going to cost. Call TTS and ask what thier liftpump setup cost, while your on the phone ask how much and Xtreme is, what the wait is and for a release form.

One thing about the TTS that has not been stated is that it will require guages as well.Another $490:eek: for a total of at least $1350:eek: .

Going fast is all about cubic dollars. How fast do you want to spend? TTS has excellent quality programing that drives like a dream and puts out the power. If you want a premium product expect to pay a premium price. TTS programing and or the TTS Xtreme is not for everyone. Some are better suited with other stuff. Its all about what you are going after.

And TTS changes the rev limiter on 01's nothing else will that I know of.
