Has anyone put air bags on a truck that has a lift kit. I am thinking about getting a 6-8 inch lift with replacement rear springs to help with the ride. I still want to be able to carry loads without the truck squatting badly in the rear.

I've done it on my last three trucks. Nice soft set of Deaver lifted springs and 5000lb air bags. Just be careful when off-roading with the bags. Extreme axle droop can tear the bags. Here's a pic of my last set-up with a 4" spacer under the bags.

To prevent the bag from ripping when flexed up only attach the bag on the top let the bottom of the bag float on the spring. The bag will stay in position on the bottom because there is always some downforce(weight) on the bags.

WhippledHD, Where did you get those spacers, were they custom made or can you buy them as part of some kit?

I have some on my truck with a 6in rcd kit. I used a piece of 2x4 square steel mounted to the top of the bag and then mounted the top of the square to the bottom of the frame where the bump stop holes are located. I will try to post a picture tomorrow. David

Sorry for the late reply, I found them online. Can't remember the name of the company but I did a search for "airbag spacers" I think Suspensionconnection.com or something had them. Nothing too fancy but for $50 is was worth it not to have to fab something up and they come tappered to match the axle.

Thanks Chris, I was looking for spacers for my airbags as well.

They are available to buy at www.suspensionconnection.com.

They are manufactured by EZ Ride and the manufacturer site is www.ezrideconcepts.com.
