How did the boost get that high. Was the banks head adjusted wrong? I was just wondering cause I have the HOT PPE and I should have a stock waste gate with mine and as soon as I get a clutch that is worth a sh^t I'll have to see what mine makes stock. What should be max boost with stock waste gate and a PPE programer.

how much is this adventure setting you back? Going with one from the general and not trying an Ebay special? Juice hasnt been trolling them lately so the price is likely down a bit

I was running a new tune and I had my bighead turned up from a previous tuner, and the new tune rocks, but I was having to much fun before I was going to let off on some twists on the bighead, BOY WAS IT FUN at those high boost levels, (as soon as some one masters the aftermarket turbo deal , as ATS is still under developement I think, and twins are at embryo stage IL have to run a stock) I will get a bigger turbo, when that happens!! I plan on running 32 lbs as that was what I originally ran before new tune , as for cost lets hope the STEALER wil take care of it , as I WAS RUNNING A STOCK TRUCK AND JUST PULLING A TRAILER, LOL if your going to run with the big dogs expect to get beat up once in a while, you just have to get back up and keep running

Better hope your mechanic or service manager isn't a member here ;)

You did turn your wategate screw out to close to stock setting right??...becuase if you get a mechanic who knows what he is looking at he will charge the pi$$ out of you becuase you altered the stock setting. Thus making your warranty void. And last time I looked at turbo is about $1500 thats with out labor.
I have my wastegate about 1 full turn away from fully seated. And your right...they do run at 35psi for a while! lol
good luck!

Yeah I'm getting the shaft from SBC right now. Not happy at all with their customer support. I was told the clutch was good for 400rwhp and I had the the HOT PPE on level 3 which is only about 350+hp and I only just got to start to move the boost guage and the clutch would let go. Well now he says he wants me to remove my DMF,clutch and pressure plate and ship it to them so they can see what is wrong. So that means I will be without transportotion for who knows how long. I don't find that to be very proffetional to sell some thing and then want their product back to see what is wrong with it will their customer has not transportation. I mean my OEM clutch held the PPE power better than the SBC set up and that my frinends is sad.:rippedhan What a hell of a way to spend $1000 just to make your truck worse off than it was before.:Wedgie:

So are you whoring for your 'Juicegrips(TM)' shirt now?):h

12Gauge shotgun under the hood... ya, I know the sound well. You never get used to it either:o: When you hear the bang it's the sound of 'money stall'

BTW:

Welcome to the club!:D

Now suck it up, throw a Twin on it, and call it a day. The Stocker will live a long and healthy life at 7 PSI... and no, you can't possibly 'Juice' another turbo that way

I found 2. Turned C.A.P onto another member selling theirs.
If there is a problem, I might be able to find one somewhere.

When driving that truck after building the tranny, I seem to remember mentioning something about... "man, 35lbs is alot for a stock charger" and that was burying the gauge so who knows....

Now that the tranny works good, something has to give...heheeh

I have my BANK BIG HEAD set for 28-31 psi............and that is measured post IC..........so pre IC is probably 1-2 psi higher.

The truck runs fine, turbo does not bark on shifts..........3 psi more and you lose a turbo.......it sucks.........but playing will get ya sometimes........

Good Luck with the turbo............

Heard that GM is having problems with the #4 Cam bearing turning and cutting off the oil supply to the turbo? Could this be your problem? I am waiting for a response from a GM Tech for information. Saw this in a magazine, June issue, "MOTOR", while waiting for other vehicle repairs to be done. Was just wondering????

No, the problem was the 35 pounds of boost on a stock turbo. Several members here have discovered that 35 lbs = kaboom.

hamman, that would be something to look closely at if it was a repeat problem, the bearing spins and cuts off oil to the turbo.

IdahoCTD is a member here. I don't think he has a website. I would just pm him with any questions that you have.
