I recently put bigger tires on my truck and now the speedo is quite a bit off. Got stopped tonight 65 in a 45, I didnt think I was doing quite that fast, guess I should look into correcting the speedo. I eventually want to put EFI live on my truck with a DSP5 switch, but right now the truck only has 11k on it. I'd like to wait a while longer before ditching the warranty. Can I use EFI live to correct my speedo/odo. but not load any tune onto the truck, and still keep the warranty, then eventually add some tunes? Sorry if this is a dumb question, still trying to read more about this stuff. Thanks!

You can, but it will still pop up as a non GM calibration flashed into it.

i think a dealer can change that and the ABS unit to correct for bigger tires while retaining your warranty.

I've heard that most dealers will refuse to do this, even though they can. Worth a shot, though.
Aside from that, I don't know of anything other than a programmer to correct the speedometer. If you want to keep your warranty, the cheapest option is probably to get a generic GPS to leave on your dash.

Another bonus is you have increased your top speed limiter! Buy the GPS!

LOL thanks guys, wasnt really sure about this. I've been using my gf's GPS but she'll probably want it back soon. Guess I'll just have to try to lighten up the foot a little, sometimes I just can't help it though! :D
ohh and DAVE, sick avatar pic. I won a burnout competition with mine earlier in the summer on some old 265s, had it shuttin off at 100. Couldn't believe how easy this thing lights up tires compared to my old truck.

Thanks man! That was just me and my brother melting down some old BFG's for fun. You're not kidding, these trucks just eat those tires up!

I wish I had some tires to burn up, these MICHELINS cost WAY to much to do that stuff with.

If you weren't literally ALL THE WAY across the country, I'd invite you out for some fun. We always have a couple worn-out tires to burn up. Gotta do something with them when the tread gets below the legal minimum, right?
