Im just installing a aux fuel tank in the bed of my truck and am going to use a solenoid valve to flow fuel into OEM tank..

Was wandering what is the best power source to tie into and if I put a toggle switch in cab where is the best place to run wires through into cab..
The solonoid valve will be mounted under truck bed by factory fill neck and I couldnt see anywhere to run wires into cab etc...

also what size fittings do i need to use to tap into the filler neck?

going to go to lowes/home depot to by the parts but i do not know the size and i cant find a post i read a while ago that had specs, and what parts would i need to attach a fuel filter??

I have an aux tank with a solenoid valve, but rather than running it into the filler neck, I put a tee into the vent line that runs from the tank to the filler neck (1/2 or 5/8 diameter). I also found that it works much better if you run a second line from that vent line to the top of your aux tank, because it sometimes gets airlocked when the aux tank is getting low. With the second line, fuel & air can exchange places between the 2 tanks, and also any slosh from the aux vent is saved, it just runs into the main tank.

the tank already has a vent on it.

what size hoses did you use?

The tank has a vent, but the stock tank has a one-way vent to let air in, not out. That is what causes the problem.

I used a 1/2 inch Solenoid for the bigger orfice, but ran 3/8 line for both the fuel & vent.
