: Any high mileage Trail Grappler reviews?
CountryBoy2500 08-31-2010, 08:55 PM I searched but couldn't find anything. I am just wondering how well these are lasting? I want to get these for duck hunting and just general winter mud this year, but I am going to run them year around. Hoping they get at least 40k?
BAD_APPLE 09-01-2010, 11:09 AM Yes im curious to know to?? Cause Im looking at buying a set and as hoping for atleast 40K miles to...
rocketracer45 09-01-2010, 12:03 PM x3 but Nitto is a known soft tire :(
JayCarver 09-01-2010, 12:47 PM I'd like to know too.
SStock...NOT 09-01-2010, 09:39 PM x4
Slidewide 09-05-2010, 02:29 PM I had 285 75 R16 Terra Grapplers (load range D) for approximately 30k. They were not worn out when I replaced them with the Duratracs that I have now.
My impressions were that they were a great all around tire, very good in snow. They rode stiffer than my duratracs even though the duratracs are load range E. Brand new, the duratracs are quieter than the worn terra grapplers, but I guess thats to be expected. My duratracs are louder now with 17k on them than they were new.
I had them mounted on 8" wide wheels, and they wore extremely evenly. I usually ran them around 45-55 PSI.
Mostly commuting miles with about 10% of the miles on dirt roads. Just a couple trips (1500 miles or so) towing a small camp trailer. No complaints.
rocketracer45 09-05-2010, 07:37 PM thank god someone is willing to comment! Thank you Slidwide!

He was talking about Terra Grapplers though, not Trail Grapplers. I have a set of Terra Grapplers in a 285, 10 ply on my stock PYO's and they have almost 60k on them and very worn. I was extremely happy with the mileage i got out of them. I will most likely get them again to replace my set before winter because they are awesome in the snow and ice.
BAD_APPLE 09-07-2010, 12:16 PM Yea I know the Terra Grapplers will last 50k plus miles. But i want to know about the Trail Grapplers there a M/T tire and have not been out to long.
whitesled 05-12-2011, 08:15 AM Know one seems to know the mileage of the trail grapplers. I need new tires trying to deside to get these or toyos.
Sierra2500 05-15-2011, 10:22 AM im going to be running a nitto trail grappler in a 325/50/22 or a 285/55/22 very soon and would also like to know how long they will last.
Sierra2500 05-15-2011, 10:22 AM do the trail grapplers come with a threadwear warranty
SS Crew 05-15-2011, 12:35 PM do the trail grapplers come with a threadwear warranty
Treadwear warranty on an LT rated all-terrain tire? Surely you jest - hahaha! :funnypost
CountryCorey 05-15-2011, 02:32 PM I have approx 13 to 15k on mine so far and they're wearing really good. I expect to get 40k out of them as long as I can keep the front end aligned and I rotate them every 5k.
towboattrash34 05-15-2011, 03:10 PM i might have 25,000 on mine and don't expect to get much more... you have to keep them rotated or the will ware bad/uneven. But i also haul some heavy loads
max09cam68 05-15-2011, 05:54 PM I got a set of 295/70/17 and so far so good but I only have about 3k on them plan to keep them rotated ever 5k ... They are sweet..
DMAXDSLTRUCK 05-20-2011, 05:00 PM This may not be a lot of help.....But, in all of the reviews I read, several from the mid-size trucks, FJ's, Jeeps, I only saw a couple complaints about tread life. Several seemed to be in at least the mid-30K range and higher. One guy said at 12,000 miles he still had 75% tread left.
I would really like a 1st hand opinion from a 2500HD operator though.
I'm looking at the 285/65/18 Trail Grapplers. I am about 70% on road, 30% off road/camping trails/etc. If someone does comment, how are they in snow, mud and rain? How about towing heavy trailers?
Sierra2500 05-20-2011, 05:22 PM I just picked up my 285/55/22 and new rims yesterday I haven't even mounted them yet though.
CountryCorey 05-20-2011, 05:31 PM I haven't had any problems in sticky mississippi river mud and I towed a 15k 5th wheel camper 700 miles without any problems. If anyone wants, pm me and I can send pictures of the tread wear so far.
D.Camilleri 05-20-2011, 08:40 PM I installed a set of 285/65/18's on my son in law's 03 and at 20k they are over 50%. Very stiff sidewall tire, pia to mount on rims with fake bolts on outside.
