Well it looks like I will be ordering an 06 next week *cross fingers*. I want to know a few things. Whats with the SLE1 2 and 3. Anyone know? What about building on GM's website when will you beable to do that. Can I find out the invoice on the truck? Do you need stearing wheel controls($125 option) to fully control the DIC?

Don't need steering wheel controls but sure enjoy them.
Also don't leave out XM radio.
Can't say any thing good about leather seats.
Had sheep skins made for mine.

Funtoy the factory radio will last one afternoon before its pulled for my Kenwood setup with Sirius radio... :)

unless it's changed for 06, you do need the steering wheel controls for all of the features for the DIC. On the 05, if you don't have the controls, the only choices you have are "Odometer", "Trip" and "Engine Hours". You need the controls for fuel economy, oil life, etc.

Looks like the major differences between SLE1/2/3 are the seats SLE1 = 40/20/40 bench, SLE2 = buckets, SLE3 = "full featured" buckets. The product guys must read this site because this year you can get a leather bench seat.

I beleive you could get a leather bench before...a friend at work has a 2003 EC/SB 2500HD LS with a leather bench. You cannot however, get a leather bench on the Avy and Suburban for some reason tho.

Once you order how long does it take to get your truck ?

It's been 16 months since I ordered mine, so it's a little hazy. But if memory serves, steering wheel controls have to do with which radio is installed. Mine is the XM with both disc and cd player, and steering wheel controls were mandatory with that one. Those steering wheel controls work the computer and radio and are definitely worth having. And XM radio is absolutely the best $325 option you can put on one of these trucks.

At least for '04, the LS had what they call a 40-20-40 bench, which is really two bucket seats with a seat/semi-console between....the armrest is on the fold down part of the console. The LT has a console that goes all the way to the dashboard - takes up a lot of space - and pretty much the same seat only with a fold down armrest.

If he's putting in Sirius, I doubt he'll be too interested in XM...

Could care less what radio comes in the truck.. IE XM is a must not have for me as I already have a complete system that will be swapped into the truck ASPA when I get it. I just want the fully functional DIC thou.
