I installed my nitrous kit this week. I have a .125 solenoid and a .084 nozzle (wich I will drill out a little to enlarge it). I installed it with a hand fired switch while I test and master that beast.

I didn't receive the right jets that I ordered. I asked for .040, .050, .060 ... up to .110 but the guy understood those numbers as being hp numbers so I got 40hp, 50hp and so forth for a gas application.

Sufice to say that mi biggest jet is .054 -:tand I don't seem to feel a good kick in the back when I activate the solenoid. I feel something but it's not dangerous for my neck. How would a .054 jet "feel" like with the Bastard Stack on 215N2O/5/5 with the assdyno? I can't have other jets untils 2-3 weeks from now. Should I spray directly thru the nozzle without any jet (wich would be .084)? Should I drill out one of the smaller jets I got to .060-.065?

The pressure was 850psi, no bottle heater for now and affraid to use the torch...

I don't have a purge solenoid and I don't know how to purge it. I've hear that some purge into the engine but is it dangerous? I sprayed a little by mistake before starting the engine and it didn't seem to like it... Maybe I wasn't properly purged, I didn't have time to make much testing. I'm on vacation and the kit arrived the day before I left... Couldn't wait. My girlfriend couldn't understand why the hell I would want to install a nitrous kit while on vacation. :ro)

Thanks for your inputs...

I would like to make reservation for the 600 club... Wait for me... I'll get there if my tranny holds...

Thanks.

JF.

IVE GOT A LOT OF experience with nitrous...generally purging into a motor is very dangerous on engine parts and leaves the possibility of a major backfire asweel...however on a diesel engine the diesel will not ignite without the heat so i dont see how your gonna have a problem...if im wrong somebody chime in and say so..one of the major problems engaging or purging nitrous while off or low RPMs is the sudden additional power creates major stress on the crank where a diesel might not be as susceptable...the other reasons would be detonations...as well not something that should be a problem with diesel....one thing i used to do if a bottle heater was not available was to soak the bottle in a warm tub of water...bath tub would work..you can get the pressure up to the desired level of your jetting and then go install it and run it...i would run my bottles up over 1200psi (long before the blowoff valve would go) and then go drive to the testing grounds and wait till the pressure dropped to around a 1000....

good thinking on not using a torch...that could be very detrimental to the structural integrity of the bottle...and could make it explode even...warm water is the ticket or a hot air dryer...but of course an electric bottle heater is pretty tough to beat...

just my opinions take them for what you want...im a nitrous freak!

heres one of my 4wheelers on nitrous...
