I have a 2004 lb7 that i purchased about 3 months ago and I dont know if the noise was always as loud as it is but the engine noise seems to be pretty loud, sounds like you can really hear the valves, I was told that it might help if I get a valve adjustment. Is this true? if so how much can I expect it to cost me?
secondly a month or two ago I installed the bd drivers side exhaust manifold and when i was putting it in I had the boost tube off and now I have a whistle, I dont know if it is from the increased flow or not, but it sounds pretty prominent just to be more flow, I have tried loosening and tightening the clamps but it doesnt change the noise but recently it has been colder in the morns and it kind of changes the sound when its colder out side and the truck isn't quite totaly warm yet, the whistle gets a bit of a whine to it. just wondering if there is any way to detect a boost leak? I double checked if it was an exhaust leak and it's not.
