My leather seats are showing some ware. Not the leather but the color/stain in coming off. What can I use to cover up the ware spots or to get dark gray color back?

Anything you put on the seats such as dye or shoe polish will rub off onto your clothing which is not a good scenario. If a good leather conditioner doesn't restore them to your linking, it's time for new seat covers.

These are top-dyed leather and not repairable.

A custom Road Wire conversion would be cool but about $2K installed

First, try a magic eraser to remove all grim and any surface dirt/crud from the seat. It will also remove most of the conditioner previously used.
Then apply a quality conditioner to the leather.
Repeat these steps until satisfied. I the leather is cracking or torn, this will obviously not fix that type of problem.
I used this method on my 06 for 41/2 years and the seats looked great when I sold it last month.

I have used the kit from the below link with good results on the left edge of my drivers seat......The kit ran about $50 and they have some pretty good info on the website...
