I need some advice here. I just had my truck at Murdock Chev in BTFL, UT for two weeks. I took it in as it was smoking at startup (startup only really).

After a long diagnosis period it was determined "3" injectors were bad. 3 injectors replaced (why not all?) - was still smoking so they kept it there... looked at the control module - don't think they changed anything there.... then pulled the turbo off to check things out... and finally replaced some valve seals and buttoned it back up.. well.....

STILL SMOKING AT STARTUP!!..

they want me to drive it for a few thousand miles and see if things improve :wtf1: .

I take it home tonight - park it in the driveway and come out an hour later to find a 2 inch diameter oil spot on the concrete. Now it's leaking oil (no, did not leak before!!). Looks like it's coming from the starter area, showing up coming down the housing just behind the oil pan. It's not the oil pan seal - it's above that someplace.

WHAT TO DO??? I wonder if the wrench working on it knows his stuff or not... might I add - my firewall was all scratched where they pulled the Turbo out..and the black covering on teh insulation on the firewall had been all ripped up - looks like SHICensored !!

I'm raging pissed... what to do from here?

Return that thing and demand to see the service dept manager...not the service dept write-up guy.

LATER!

Call the dealer and tell them to send a flatbed. Sounds like they forgot to tighten a oil line to the Turbo(?). Then find another dealer.
Maybe one of the UT members will see this and recommend a better dealer for you.

I have had great luck at Gus Paulo's, I have not had any major work done there though. But I know a guy that stacked and nuked a tranny and they give him a no hassle replacement. I'm taking my truck there for misc. shat tomorrow before my factory 36er warrenty is gone. They are on 3500 s. & about 4000 w.

What year is your truck, how many miles? If 01 -02, GM will replace all 8. If newer, then they will replace the bad ones.

it's an '02 GMC D/A CC SB - WTF.. why did I only get 3 replaced when it should have been all 8????

I dropped it off up there again today after driving it for a week and it getting worse. I think it's coolant - not oil and relayed what I had experienced. I bi!ched about the insulation/firewall as well and we'll see what happens.

If I go through the same BS - I'm taking it to another dealer.
