Howdy,

Have here an '07 GMC 2500HD, About 70k miles on it. Been noticing some weirdness over the past couple of months. Dealer says he couldn't find anything wrong with it...

What happens is this. I start the truck, it runs fine for about a minute and then dies from a lack of fuel. Once it dies, try to start it over and over again, never starts back up. So I open up the little screw valve above the diesel filter to check to see if there is any fuel, doesn't seem to be any. Then I reach in front of the diesel filter to the rubber hose that runs from the filter to somewhere underneath the air intake, I am not sure if this is the hose that goes to the fuel tank or not? I squeeze that hose a few times and then go try and start it and it finally starts. Seems odd to me... Fuel pump going south i'm thinking?

This has happened to me 3 times now over the past 2 months. Squeezing that hose seems to get it started. We've been having a relatively cool summer here in California this year and this condition seems to only happen when it's 85+ degrees outside. Any relation? No idea...

So the question is, has anyone else seen this? If so, what was the problem child?

Thanks for the help in advance.

SOunds like an air leak in a fuel line. These trucks do not have Fuel pumps. THe CP3 injection pump sucks fuel from the tank throught the filter and to the pump. If there is an air leak troubles like you describe can happen. Check and make sure your WIF sensor isn't cracked. It is a common occurance for these to break.
