I have noticed that my trans like to gravitate to 150 degrees. It gets there in about 5 miles in the summer and then just hangs there unless I am towing. Does the Allison have a target temp of 150 degrees? Does it have a valve to control the fluid flow to the cooler to get to this temperature?

i'm wondering the exact same thing my self!!!! my normal commute (15 miles) it would get up to 125 (not sure if its fully warm up or not). the hottest i've gone is when i went hunting and it ran more or less 200 degrees. i've just changed my pan to a ppe one and my first longest trip yet (about 100 miles) runs a hair under 150 to a hair over 150.

No valve or temp control. Thumbrule is approx 100F over ambient is a typical operating temp.
