All,

I got to looking at the Mag-Hytec site for their transmission pans and differential covers (high-grade cast aluminum with cooling fins). Has anyone installed either product on their truck? Do you have any before/after temperature comparisons for the transmission? Any particular likes or dislikes with the product and/or company? Would you do it again?

Thanks,

Joseph

I've yet to see an honest decrease in fluid temps with those pans.

No temp. differance, but they look sweet! Extra fluid never hurts either.

Bling and extra fluid, yes I would do it again.

I have a PML pan. The extra fluid is worth the pan if nothing else. Get a Mike L. tranny cooler if you are looking to lower tranny temps.

If your only reason for buying a pan is to lower you transmission temps. do not spend the money on a pan, any brand. Spend your money on a Transmission cooler from Mike L. If you are looking at adding more fluid so the heat is spread over a larger capacity of fluid I would look at a PML pan. When I got mine they were cheaper than the MagHytec and were every bit as good in fit, finish and function.

I could not agree more...........Mike's Cooler has my Tranny temps down 20-30 defrees from last summer. On an 85-90 degree day....hot and humid I see at or below 140 degrees via my Autometer Sump Gauge in the PML pan and 160-165 via the dash gauge verified by a TECH II.

The cooler works very well ............and the extra capacity is nice.

So, if my temps aren't going to be lower with the Mag-Hytec or PML pans, should I just go with the actual Allison deep pan? I know, the other pans are a lot sexier, but the Allison pan is a lot cheaper than the other pans (although I think it's just stamped, and not cast). Would I be losing anything if I "went cheap"?

Thanks,

Joseph
