Hello everyone,

I was just on the GMC site today and noticed that the power moonroof option has been removed. It was there a few months ago so I'm wondering if GM dropped this option on the 3/4 ton trucks :( . I hope not because this is one of my desired options when I order my truck next year. I guess we will find out in a couple of months or so but if anyone has any information on this, please let me know.

Thanks again,

Pete..:)

You can always go aftermarket. I think the aftermarket ones are WAY better. I'll be doing that after 07 :)

I cannot 100% say one way or the other, but I will add that when they went public on what is new and what will be deleted, the sun roof was not included in the lists. Sometimes things come and go as a software issue on gmbuypower.com. Check back after a few weeks to see if it has come back. If not, send an e-mail to GMC with a WTF! included.

I agree, the aftermarket roof is far superior to that joke they call a moon roof in the current trucks. When I heard the 05's would have a factory roof option, for a moment I wished that I had waited for an 05 but after seeing one I realized I had what I wanted.

Go aftermarket Classic Soft Trim has some nice ones that can be installed through the dealer when you buy the truck.

Hello everyone and thank you for your responses. If it turns out that GM doesn't offer the moonroof as an option, I will just get an aftermarket one.

Now what is wrong with the GM moonroof? I never seen a truck with one (at least up close anyway).

Thank you,

Pete

The biggest problem with the OEM is it opens up above the roof instead of going into the roof.

Aww that stinks!! I would rather have it going into the roof. Is this something you think the aftermarket can do?

OEM= small, opens outside and only opens a little.

Aftermarket= bigger, opens inside and opens all the way.

Am I correct is assuming then the 05 truck sunroof was not the same as the 05 suburban which goes into the room and has a goodsize opening. I have not seen one on a truck. I am ordering a 06 (3500) and couldn't get the sunroof. Dealer said 3rd generation Dmax was Sept or Oct, and that the first ones still had LLY. Anyone know any different. I am holding my order for the new motor.
