Hi,
first post here... Please be gentle.

I'm having some intermittent turbo problems. Everything will appear to work fine and then suddenly no boost, white smoke from exhaust. Computer throws P0045, P0046 and P0299. I pulled the Vane sensor and put it on a meter. Resistance appears to be correct while moving the position sensor manually. Pulled Vane solenoid, it looked clean. Checked wiring for frays/faults. I then plugged truck into autoenginuity scan tool. Started truck and turbo was behaving correctly. Desired solenoid current= 1.8A. Measured solenoid current=1.8A. Desired and measured sensor were also consistent (~90%). I revved the engine repeatedly and used the autoenginuity software to manually exercise the desired sensor position. After a few minutes, measured solenoid current dropped to 0A and measured sensor to 0%. Desired solenoid was still at 1.8A and desired sensor was at ~90%. I shut the truck down and checked the sensor and solenoid leads against ground for any faults and there was no problems.

Any idea's?

Thanks!
Rick
