maybe it's just me but as far as i can tell his auction is for 1 gallon. he does not state much about it. like do you need to use 100% of this in your coolant or is it a 50/50 mix. you'd think some one trying to flog the stuff would let you know the facts upfront if it's as good as they say it is. heck in for a penny and you could be in for a pound.

I looked into this quite a bit. Went to http://www.evanscooling.com, and read a lot of the materials there. The basic concepts sounds like it makes sense thermodynamically. The problem that I have is that there is no easily quantifiable way to determine if the coolant is doing what it says it is doing. For example, when you install a '97 cooling system, forum members indicate that they now run a lot cooler. With the Evans Coolant, you would actually swap out for a HIGHER degree stat, and the truck would run hotter, with no guarantee that you're not cracking your block, other than their assurance that it's OK. In other words, it is difficult to know if it is working. I suppose that if you were towing, and it normally boiled over at a certain point, and you were not boiling over any more, then that would be an indication, but I'm loath to 'test' it out in that way. There also appear to be no laboratory data specified (e.g. lab tests showing decrease of vaporization, or ability to handle more heat without metal failure), and no controlled, double-blind clinical trials. It's VERY hard to convince people when all the data appears to be anecdotal.
Sincerely,
Rob :)
