With 40000 miles and all the mods listed in my sig. What can I expect to get in trade in. Plus, has anyone traded in a truck that's been tuned. How do dealers work with you on a not so stock truck?

I know a local dealer here offered a guy $30k for his truck on trade. Simular to yours.

mods at the dealer i work at get you no extra money as MOST people want a factory truck and thats what seems to sell. We do not take trucks that have had atuner on them as the warranty issues can be to big of a risk for the dealer and the new owner.

List your truck on the market in Wyoming, Neb., Utah, Dakotas, even New Mex, and Colo. the buyers are in there looking for just what you are selling and don't have to buy new and change all the DPF crap. Just have to find the fish with the bait. Fish ON_____

Sell it yourself, you won't get crap for the mods on a trade-in deal and as some have said above, many dealers stay away from modified trucks or low ball the heck out of them to offset the risk (real or perceived) that they are taking on.

Look at KBB or NADA, Edmunds, etc. and price out a bone stock truck that is your model, year, options, etc. then pick the trade in price they list for that stock truck. You won't get much more than that regardless of how much $$ you sunk into the thing.

Post it here and other diesel forums as well as on an internet used car listing and sell it yourself.

I have a 2009 just rolled over 9000 mile, all stock, if i had done a tuner of any kind they would not be interested in it at the dealer i go thru. Black Book was 48,838.00 that is what i was offered on trade on a new 2011-2500HD Denali. If the DPF is gone and cat plan on spends some money to get a factory exhaust back on it. As noted on here sell it out right.

You don't ever get back the $$ from mods. I did trade in a modded truck for my '09. They didn't even look or ask. Didn't even raise the hood. Just took it for a drive.

Private party is probably the way to go. I went to look for a used D max for my brother. We went to a dealer after we found the one we wanted online. I walked up to it, saw a turner on it and we walked away. I've never seen anyone tune up their truck and not see what it could do. You generally never get a used vehicle where you know the previous owner, but I'd like to think it was someone who just bought and drove the truck. Maybe some towing.

Why trade and start all over. Looks like you got it the way you want it, and the new stuff isn't much different. Those high trade values listed will only happen if you pay sticker on the new one.....

I'm looking at DRW. I believe my 40 ft fifth wheel is at my trucks limitation maybe a little over. I would hate to blow a tire going 60 with my family in the truck.

Good reason to start over. Trade value is crazy high, and will help you in the tax department...so good to go.

Probably close to what NADA has it valued at? If you are looking at buying around invoice you likely won't see over NADA trade value up front.
