at idle it sounds like the vanes are opening and closing non stop on the turbo after a while it stops and the exhaust hisses really loud, when i drive the truck the boost seems higher than normal and the truck has no power and smokes and knocks when i step on it. the codes that come up are P2563 and P003A i know that they are, just wondering what this means. I unplugged the Turbo vane postion sensor and the truck seems to run fine power and boost seem normal. do you think all i have to do it change the sensor out. thanks for any advice

Not sure if it will solve your problem but I can tell you the sensor will cost you north of $600

My buddy's dmax did the same thing. They replaced the turbo

More than likely needs a turbo vane sensor. What color is the wire coming off of it? There's an updated sensor which has a white wire instead of black.

the wire coming off it is black, I thought it might be the turbo but with the sensor unplugged the truck runs fine seems like normal power and normal boost so this makes me think the turbo is fine. atleast i hope. Thanks
