i was running under hard acceleration when the truk began to lose power. i slowed down and noticed blue smoke pourin out the exhaust. i pulled it over an she was running rough,like she was only on 7 cylinders. hooked up efi live scan tools and that was the code it read. she still runs but is brning what smells like oil. any thoughts?

I would do a compression check. possible cracked piston:eek:

Getting excessive blow by?

Just a guess, but I'd look in the direction of a failed injector and what you are smelling is raw fuel pumping out the exhaust.

Hopefuly it is fuel but its blue and sure smells like burning oil.

x2 on the compression test, an checking for blowby, a quick look at the balance rates could help in the diag.

bad news. no compression in cylinder 4. time to tear it apart.

I would say a hole in the piston, Sorry to hear that... You have my symphathy,,,

Running NOS or Meth?

so what happens when you crack a piston or burn a hole threw one? pull the motor run a hone up and down the cylinder get a new piston and throw it back together?

also how big of a tune were you running

by the looks of his times he's pretty hot, I would like to know how much pulse width at wot, an timing at say 2800-3600rpm

I burnt #4 myself. Not a good feeling, but a good time to upgrade... Sorry about your loss, hope the build goes good.

tune was around 530 to 550hp

found out it was cracked piston. im just gonna fix it and ride it like its stolen, well stolen from a good friend that is.
