I have a 2004 6.6 diesel. After driving about 100 miles went to move and started up but stalled and won't restart. 2nd time this happened and is there a way to get it started wiyh out a tow. Mabey it lost prime and is there a prime pump and where is it. Thanks in Advance, Mark

Primer pump is on passenger side of engine, next to firewall. There should be a big white filter hanging from it. The pump is on the top front side. Does not look like a pump, but it is. If you see the black bleeder screw, the plunger is the 1-1/2" round thing. Open the bleeder screw and pump a couple of times to see if it has fuel. Close the bleeder screw and pump till hard.
When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? Did this start since then?

Might want to look at changing that fuel filter and o-ring... it's losing prime for a reason, either a bad o-ring or there's a crack or some other leak in the filter housing...
New fuel filter is the cheapest option to start with.
