Anybody working a 3500 w/dump for hauling plowing etc. ,etc. . Thinking of upgrading and wondering how the D/A or 6 speeds are holding up for rough duty . Any input is welcome , thanks

PS We need a work truck forum !

They won't give us a work truck form. I asked several times. They said there is too many forms but they pretty boys a washing, waxing and chrome handle form and a pimp my ride wheel form.

I have a dump insert in my 3500 and a 8.5 myer plow on my 2500. Both hvae 6.6 in them and both are bulls when its time to work. The 3500 crew also has the magna flo sytem on it and it pulls like a train. the 2500 ext only has exhaust and intake done. they both are real work horses:)

Thanks for the replies . Here's my situation , I run a 9' plow and a 2 yd spreader in the winter . With just the equipment the truck is close to weight , add a ton or more of sand and you can guess where that puts it . Nobody gets stopped during an ice or snow storm up here , so that's not the problem . With a little help with tires and springs I need to know if the rest of the truck can take it . Currently have 94' CTD , engine + , auto - ,brakes- ,frame- but in all fareness , it has been worked hard in the worst conditions . Anyway , this is what I need a WORK truck to do . BTW , love my 2500HD

:blahblah: big FN deal I put in wrong the word. As for the fries, I see some people posting how they thing it cool to run over the shrubbery and flower at the drive through. If they try that at any of the properties I maintain the have nice steel tree stakes to cut open their tires or scratch their pretty paint.

I had a springs added to my truck. Crank up the torsion bars add a set of timbermans. you'll be ok. check out plowsite.com it is a board that all it deals with is plowing, salting, and such. Most people on this site are newbie truck owners and would be scared to put a little topsoil in their truck let a lone salt.

I have been running mine for over three years now and still working fairly well. The only person who drives my truck is me and it is used for daily driving 20% as well as work 80% When I first got mine I had my 9'.2 Boss v as well as the 2 yard sander, since sold the sander. The truck hauled it no problem. What I have done to mine is added 3 springs in the back,Timbrens in the front and air bags in the rear. I have grossed over 20,000 before(no trailer) and had no problems, but the truck didn't like it. I scale at 15,000 quite a bit and figure you could do that on a regular bases. As far as the 6 speed goes, the next one will be a auto unless GM convinces me they have the flywheel/clutch fixed which so far they haven't.
