I have an automatic 96 burban 6.5l. I wanna put in a newer more powerful motor.

1)Is it possible and what should i look for and waht brands?

2)Is it possible to make it stick if it was auto and whats involved?

best advice i would have is to find another wrecked truck that is already a standard..there are too many things that need to be changed to list in one post..and rounding up all the parts needed could be time consuming and expensive one at a time...as far as a better engine... the answers are unlimited

Peninsular Diesel will build you a powerful 6.5 motor. I picked the 300hp version which is a good compromise between power and longevity. They have a 400hp twin turbo version if you've got the itch for more power. It looks very spiffy.
