How do you know its time to replace your fuel filter? I have about 11,500 miles on the original fuel filter. I've noticed when accelerating I get like sort of a back fire(maybe not exactly that but I can hear something in the engine) type of thing like maybe fuel is not flowing smooth? I am thinking its time for a new filter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its time to change your filter. To be safe I would change it every 10,000 miles. You might want to cut your current filter open to see exactly how dirty it is.

yeah, I figured that, I just wanted to make sure. I'll cut it up and try and post some pics of it. Thanks for your help.

I have just over 10K miles on my truck and I've changed it twice already. The second one (last week) I cut open and it was dirty. The lower half was black as well as a strip 1-2" wide all the way up one side. I was experiencing more bursting than normal, changed it and wow - what a difference.

Tech at a dealer here in Canada told me that he recommmends to cahnge every second oil cahnge which works out to every 6000 mile as the oil cahnges here are every 5000KM or 3000 Miles.

I need to change mine too (13k) on original. Could somebody post a link for an order that accepts disc. card to save me the search time? Yeah, yeah, I know a search is easy, but I'm a bit lazy today...
Thanks,
Mike

On edit...Got 'em on order

Surprised you don't have a "Nicktane" pre OEM fuel filter on there. Its good insurance.
