: Cognito Motorsports Lifts
jermstyle 07-21-2005, 11:13 AM Who here is running the Cognito Motorsports lift on their 05 or even 03-04 HD
For anyone that has one, how is the quality and durability of the lifts? How is the ride with this style lift?
Will the new suspension parts hold up to rough dirt roads and 37” tires while supporting the weight of the diesel?
Also, any pictures of your rides?
JamieMax 07-21-2005, 03:48 PM If you want quality go with CST
bigwhitehd 07-21-2005, 09:25 PM , listen jamie max, cognito kicks cst's a$$ as far as strength, i have the 7-9 and love my kit, i have 37's now, and it rides great, strong as hell, what do you want to know, i need more specfic questions, but i do love this kit

the car just got blown also, making close to the power you are with yours
GMC2500HD 07-21-2005, 10:19 PM Well I will step in before this one gets out of hand... Keep in on topic, the guy just asked who was running one and the durability. He did not ask for a fighting match.. I would suggest that you do a search on that particular lift kit and then go from there. I think you will find all the info that you want to know has already been posted...
bigwhitehd 07-22-2005, 03:44 AM i wasnt trying to start a fight, just i get tired of hearing how great cst is, and is a really damn good kit, but i think cognito is as good as them.
Mackin 07-22-2005, 05:47 AM Lifts are almost turning into transmission threads :D
Hey Big White :thumb: Nice truck.I like the removed 2500 Emblem too, slick leaving just the Duramax Emblem
Nice !!!
Make sure you and others have your Truck picture in the "what's your ride look like" thread
Liftedhdrado 07-22-2005, 09:41 AM I have the 12" Cognito kit and all I have to say is that this kit is the best kit out there right now. The quality and durability of the kit is excellent. I strongly recommend it.
Check out my truck on 38's

jermstyle 07-22-2005, 10:23 AM Thanks for the replies and pictures!
I have looked at the Cognito and CST lifts as well as all offerings from Fabtech and ProComp. The Cognito and CST are very close in design and appearance so it has to come down to product recommendations from people that are riding on these lifts every day.
I plan to run a 37x12.50 (maybe a little wider) on a 20x10 wheel (possibly 18s) and I want to lift the truck just enough to clear these tires so probably 8 inches.
Although this truck is mainly used just to drive around on the street and haul light loads, I need to be able to pull a race car trailer with my SS and tool box inside.
Will pulling this load be a problem with either of these lifts?
BigWhiteHD – Nice SS! I’ll have to post some pics of mine when I can find them. Mine has a lot done to it, just about everything you can imagine has made its way onto my car in the pursuit of power!
bigwhitehd 07-22-2005, 03:05 PM yeah, my ss just got ati procharged, soon to be a forged ls1 dropped in and 15 psi, but you should clear those 37's with ease with the 7-9 kit, i do
No J.O.B. 07-22-2005, 03:19 PM http://dieselplace.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=4512&d=1116363985
LUCKEE7 07-25-2005, 08:54 PM i have the 10 inch kit in my 05 CC, its only been on for a month but is looks like a tuff kit, really heavy duty. As for the ride, its better than stock believe it or not, i run 38s on 20 inch wheels, no regrets or complaints here. i will post pics up as soon as i can.
ACE21 08-12-2005, 07:16 AM Oh my God Liftedhdrado,
I 'm so jealous I found more pictures of your truck ....and man she looks good.
azcrf450 08-21-2005, 09:23 PM Who is everybody buying their cognito lifts through? Can they be purchased off the net at better prices? Your trucks look great!!
bigwhitehd 08-22-2005, 12:54 AM i bought mine straight from justin the owner of cognito
Has anyone done their own Cognito (7"-9") installation? How was it compared to other kits?
DURAMAX1 08-22-2005, 05:47 PM I got mine done @ Outlaw off-road. Loving it so far.
itonoffun 08-24-2005, 12:14 AM don't know how it compares to other kits but you only have to make 1 cut on the diff mount, drill 4 holes for the torsion drop and the rest is bolt on. but like anything "bolt on" sometimes you may have to tweak it just a bit. good kit i like mine.
Liftedhdrado 08-25-2005, 09:09 AM Oh my God Liftedhdrado,
I 'm so jealous I found more pictures of your truck ....and man she looks good.
Thanks!:ro)
_nar_ 08-26-2005, 01:42 AM itonoffun-I want to see pics of your truck. We don't often get to see regular cabs with tires like that. Also what body lift did you use and how do you like it?
