After a lot of consideration, I will be jumping ship from Dodge to GMC. I currently drive a 1 ton SRW w/cummins (4x4) and will be going to a 1 ton DRW w/Duramax (4x4). I sat down with a local dealer and talked price. The GMC stickers at $61,499. He gave me a "bottom dollar" price of $57,810 - this price is before rebates and before TTL. He said this is $500 over invoice. I sure thought they could/would come down a little bit more, but I guess not. Does this price seem about right? I havent bought a new truck since I bought my goat in back in 04.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Leather, electric sun roof, DVD, Nav, 6" chrome steps, Bose, stereo controls on steering wheel. From what I understand it has "everything" on it. It is NOT a Denali.

Wannanew1,
I assume you got the following vehicle: 4wd crew cab, long bed, ltz. If this is correct then here are the following invoice prices:
Base Price for the above truck $41,798.85
Duramax Engine $6,331.60
Allison $1,056.00
Navagation for ltz $1,980
Sun roof $875.60
6" Steps $606.32
Shipping $995
All other options you mentioned are standard equipment on an LTZ,
Therefore the total is $53,643.37
As you can see this is over $4K less than what the dealer quoted you.

The truck is a GMC HD Crew Cab Dually SLT 4x4.

I have a price sheet for all 1 ton chevy trucks that the dealer gave me to build my truck from. The GM SLT base price will be a bit higher but the options price will be the same. You can go to Edmunds.com (it's free) and price your truck and you will see the invoice price is much lower than what your dealer is telling you. The dealer will also add an advertising charge to the total I gave you, it is $717 where I live but will probably vary nationwide.

no way i would sign the papers with that price. they have way more room than that to play with.

Well if that price is for a mostly loaded truck and the price is before the 1,500 dollar rebate and such the price does not sound that bad to me. I paid 56,500 out the door price which means my plates were do (snob plates) and they through in the 6" oval steps and all licensing fees and renewed my tags. I did not get the rear sliding window or the nav this time around since my garmin works much better then the nav i had in the 08.

I kinda thought there would be more wiggle room.

It is a loaded up SLT with a sticker of $61,500.

Thanks! Looks like the price they quoted me was "Average." I dont like "Average." Never have, never will.

Just this morning, I ordered a 11' CC 3/4 ton LTZ with everything except Nav and rear DVD. Includes sliding rear glass, LTZ Plus Package, Camper Mirrors, Sunroof, and Marker Lights. Stickered at $55,895 and am buying it for $52,675 less whatever rebate is in effect at the time of delivery (currently $1,500). So if it were delivered today I'd be at $51,175.00 out the door.

Your pricing sounds a little high.

When you say "out the door price" are you saying before TT&L are after? It looks like some are saying before and some after. It would help if everyone used the same meaning.

Included in the price no extra charges added on plus the renewed my snob plates that were due. So I offered 56,500 and they pay for ttl plate tags and 6" ovals

Sorry for the confusion. No, that is my cost at the dealer. TT&L are not included in my quote.

I've heard a few guys say they got a better deal, but that sounds like as good or better than most that I've heard,as for as what they got off the sticker but the sticker sounds like it might be alittle high to me.

Check out www.truecar.com (http://www.truecar.com).

It won't let me add the Nav/DVD radio, but it'll let me add the entertainment package?????

OK guys, If the dealer won't come 9 or 10 thousand off of sticker price you need to walk away. Let some other suckers be the first 100,000 or so to buy and then you can get a decent deal.

If it is in red, either a note or my truck doesn't have it.
Other than that, pretty similar

$48,121.00 +ttl

I always used the theory, that if you get it out the door for the MSRP, you were doing good.

But the California tags for mine are near $650

If I could I would,it would be nice to wait for that good of a deal, but some of us just happen to need new trucks now.I was really ready at the first of the year but held off so I could get a 2011 after hearing the rumors. The money I would save by waiting,I would probably have to put in the truck I have now to keep it on the road.If I'm going to spend money on a truck,it might as well be the new one.I have a handful of things that needed done last winter and I did have to fix a few things (and who knows what else could go wrong) but my dealer told me not to put the money in it,that I wouldn't get it back out at trade in time.Long story short, lol,I don't feel like a sucker for not waiting til I can get 9 or 10 grand off.lol!

I would of liked to wait for a job2 but it was either a 2010 or 2011,so I ordered a 2011 (that I'm still waiting for),and I would never pay msrp either.
